Charles Marvin Brack, affectionately known as “Chuck” and recognized by many as Santa Claus in the Lancaster Park City Mall, passed away, leaving a legacy of joy, warmth, and community service. Born on September 19, 1942, in Allentown, Georgia, Brack’s life was marked by dedication to family, friends, and the communities he served.
Brack, who delighted countless children each holiday season as Santa, lived a colorful life filled with adventure and service, according to his obituary published by Reece Funeral Home. After a lively childhood in Allentown, he graduated from Wilkinson County High School in 1960 and joined the Air Force, later marrying his beloved wife, Jeannie Olsen, in 1965. The two started their family in Buford, Georgia, with sons Steven and Jeffrey. Brack built a successful career selling CAD computer systems, yet he always made time for weekend projects and cherished moments with friends and family.
He served his community deeply through roles with the Buford Presbyterian Church, the Masonic Lodge, and later, as a volunteer firefighter, city council member, and even Mayor of his hometown, Allentown, according to his obituary. Known as “Papa” to his grandchildren, Brack brought holiday magic to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he spread joy as the mall Santa Claus—a role he was proud to hold.
Brack is survived by his wife Jeannie; son Jeffrey; daughter-in-law Jill; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister Annelle Brack Carlton; and many extended family members and friends
